Carretto simplifies as well as deepifies the walk of faith throughout this short book. In this easy read he takes several biblical quotes and opens them up in bright clarity. Although his style is quite undemanding, he does challenge throughout the book to see God in places and times you would not ordinarily do so. He pushes us to see God beyond our eyes, feel him beyond our emotions, and hear him beyond what we normally listen to.

Among the several challenging quotes is the following one: ...for us, who want noise, God is silence- the light is darkness. Darkness for us who want power, while God is meakness. Darkness for us who want pleasure, always pleasure, while God is service and gratitude and love, often painful love.
